In 2022, we launched the Federated Football Project, a joint initiative led by The British School of Barcelona’s Director of Sport & Physical Education, Jonathan Cross, and Humaes Sport Group, a company specialising in sports management. The programme is designed to educate through sport and provide BSB students with the tools to compete at a high level in Catalonia.

Since the project began, it has seen remarkable growth. Starting with thirty-one students and two teams, it has now expanded to a hundred and five players across six federated teams, all registered with the Catalan Football Federation.

The 2023-2024 season saw the establishment of the ‘BSB Sports Club’, with five teams competing and performing well both on and off the field.

As we enter the 2024-2025 season, we are moving into the second phase of the project. In addition to two weekly training sessions run by qualified coaches from Humaes SG, we have added a third session dedicated to physical preparation, developed in collaboration with the BSB sports department. We are also introducing a Sports Coaching service focused on helping players improve their confidence, teamwork, and concentration, whilst building a strong team spirit.

This project continues to develop thanks to our ongoing partnership with Humaes SG, the dedication of our BSB sports and after-school teams, and the support of our parents and students.

Our current teams include:

  • Prebenjamín (five to seven years old)
  • Alevín (ten and eleven years old)
  • Alevín Girls (ten and eleven years old)
  • Infantil (twelve and thirteen years old)
  • Cadete (fourteen and fifteen years old)
  • Juvenil (sixteen and eighteen years old)

We are already working on new initiatives for the 2025-2026 season to further improve the programme.
