Ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of our students to school is a top priority at The British School of Barcelona. In pursuit of this goal, we continually refine our procedures to elevate the professionalism of our bus transport service. We are now excited to announce that we have introduced BatOnRoute Bus Tracker App, a leading solution that enables geolocation and real-time tracking of passengers along their routes.

After a successful pilot in the last summer term 2022/23 with a group of families, the BatOnRoute App has been operational since the beginning of this school year, covering all bus lines across each of our BSB campuses. Thanks to this cutting-edge app, we are transforming school bus transportation, providing a seamless and secure experience for our students and their families, ensuring that school travel is both more reliable and smarter.

This is a Cognita-wide Initiative. As part of the Cognita family, we benefit from Cognita-wide initiatives that enrich our school community. Just like BSB, other Cognita schools in Spain, such as Hastings, TEMS, and CEM, have adopted the BatOnRoute App, and we are delighted to be a part of this broader journey.

Safety and Convenience at Your Fingertips
The BatOnRoute App is the solution to making school transport safer and more convenient, ensuring a hassle-free journey to school. Here’s what you can expect:

For Families:

  • Receive notifications when the bus is approaching the stop.
  • Stay informed about any delays and their causes.
  • Report absences or changes in your child’s route to the school.
  • Ensure that your child boards the bus and arrives at school safely.

For the School:

  • Access real-time information on bus stops and arrival times.
  • Track the whereabouts of students on each bus.
  • Manage student route changes effortlessly.
  • Receive prompt alerts about route delays to stay on schedule.

Expansive BSB Transport Service
Our school bus system is one of our core strengths. In the 2023/24 academic year, we are operating fifteen routes, including three shuttles, serving approximately 370 students. We connect families from Sant Cugat to Barcelona in the North and from Segur de Calafell and Vilanova to Sitges and Castelldefels in the South. We also serve the Esplugues de Llobregat area and continuously assess the bus routes to meet the evolving needs of our families.

For students participating in after-school activities at BSB Castelldefels and BSB Nexus, we also run late shuttles from Castelldefels to Barcelona and to Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú. Our long-standing bus company providers are Izaro and Autocares Troyano.

For parents with children currently using the school transport service
Parents of students using the bus are encouraged to download the BatOnRoute App and make use of the very easy-to-use tool to manage their child’s day-to-day bus activity. The app can be downloaded by clicking here — iPhone IOS or Android.
